I love music videos because it is an opportunity to work with artists that create their work from a melodic perspective instead of visual one. For me it was a challenge to find a fitting visual identity together with director Youp.
Steijn Leijzer is an Amsterdam based cinematographer/director of photography, working closely with agencies, brands and production companies on commercials, branded content, music videos, documentaries, interviews, aftermovies and short narrative films. He is often brought in as a reliable and collaborative DP who thinks visually but also understands pace, budgets and set dynamics. He owns an Arri Alexa Mini camera package with all the professional tools expected on a commercial film set, including a handheld director’s monitor, and a Sony FX6 kit for more agile, budget friendly or fast turnaround productions. Commercials, yes please. Music videos, vibe check required. Documentaries, he's all ears. Interviews, no problem at all. Aftermovies, let’s make some fun. Short narrative films, he might just do those for cheap. Steijn Leijzer is een Amsterdamse director of photography en cameraman die graag werkt aan commercials, branded content, videoclips, documentaires, interviews, aftermovies en korte fictie-projecten. Hij kent zijn weg in het veld van agencies, merken en productie-bedrijven en wordt vaak ingezet als een meedenkende DP die niet alleen sterk is in beeld, maar ook begrijpt hoe productie, planning en budgetten werken. Hij heeft een Arri Alexa Mini cameraset, volledig uitgerust voor soepele draaidagen inclusief draadloze handheld regiemonitor. Daarnaast beschikt hij over een Sony FX6 set voor flexibele, snelle of budgetvriendelijke producties. Commercials, leuk. Videoclips, gooi het nummer maar deze kant op. Documentaires, hij luistert. Interviews, geen probleem. Aftermovies, let’s go. Korte fictie-projecten, met liefde en voor cheap als het met eigen gear kan.
